Loved this Inn! Very quaint. Perfect location on the water with some spectacular views on the rooftop! The staff was very nice and the rooms were clean and cute. We lucked out on yummy morning pastries and coffee. There is free bus transportation to downtown as well. Definitely recommend staying here and will be coming back!

The Alexandra Inn is a true gem located in the Beach District. First, the major wins. Far enough away from crowds, close enough to get to town easily, beachfront with beach access, bay view, rooftop terrace with clean and modern rooms. Second, the other wins. Excellent shower with great water pressure and good drainage, plenty of outlets, coffee and pastries early in the morning in the lobby, friendly staff and wonderful sunrises and sunsets. We had dinner outside on the rooftop and watched sunset. We will definitely be back here any time we visit Traverse City.

We didn't feel particularly comfortable. The location isn't very idyllic, despite the lake view, as it's right next to a busy road. The room wasn't very clean; the worst part was the many insects on the balcony and in the room itself. On top of that, the reception staff were very unfriendly and passive. Furthermore, the coffee machine at reception was very poor (but free of charge). It was okay, but not acceptable for the price.

Overall, the hotel is tolerable for a short stay, provided you are aware of its rather remote location. Unfortunately, our room was not clean (spiders and insects) and smelled unpleasant; the bathroom also hadn't been thoroughly cleaned in a long time. The service wasn't particularly friendly, but parking is free. The view of the lake is great.
