Can't say enough good things about the Chalet of Canandaigua. From the moment we arrived I knew this was going to be a special place. Absolutely gorgeous setting and structure and Gerardo (apologies if I've misspelled your name!) was one of the most welcoming, sincere, and warm innkeepers I've ever met. When we arrived, we were asked if we'd like a beverage and we opted for lemonade. You can imagine my surprise when he went out to the garden to pick fresh mint to add to it! That was within the first 30 seconds and the attention to detail was maintained throughout our 3-night stay. His breakfasts were incredible and we felt not just welcomed but *warmly* welcomed the entirety of our time there. The room was gorgeous and the property was perfect for decompressing and relaxing on a much needed vacation. We also had the opportunity to meet and talk with Melanie whose passion for the Chalet was obvious from the start of our conversation.
Sometimes a vacation ends and you're ready to go home and sometimes a vacation ends and you want to spend another week in your surroundings. The Chalet of Canandaigua falls squarely into the latter. We didn't want to leave and it's the beauty and charm of the setting along with Gerardo's presence that made it that way. Absolutely wonderful experience and can't recommend it enough.

I had the chance to spend two nights at the Chalet of Canandaigua for a business event, and let me just say, wow! The Chalet was beautifully decorated with a very relaxing atmosphere, both inside the house and on the property grounds. I stayed in the Balcony Suite where I slept well and enjoyed the massive shower! The breakfasts were world class. Melanie and Fernando are great people and gracious hosts, always willing to make sure you have everything you need for a great stay. For dinner, I'd recommend making the short trip to the Rose Tavern for fine dining by the lake. I would stay again without hesitation!

You can't beat a chalet in the woods for a getaway. This one is special because of the family who operate it. They made us feel at ease from the moment we arrived. For us the highpoint was a private candlelight dinner on the porch. The food and especially the service were perfect. The next morning's breakfast was the same. When we left we had the feeling we'd made new friends. We will recommend the Chalet because we enjoyed every moment of our stay.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay so much! Checking in was very simple and we were welcomed with a personalized note, a treat, and fresh fruit infused water. The rooms are very intimate and comfortable. It’s a great place to unwind after a long day of exploring the area. The food was fresh, healthy, and delicious. Grace (the chef) was such a pleasure to talk to. The property is so beautiful! I’m looking forward to returning back to this place in the future!

We spent the weekend in Canandaigua after attending the Ella Langley concert. When we first drove up to the property, we were struck by how beautiful the Chalet and landscaping around the property was. When we checked in, we were greeted by Grace who was our chef for the weekend. She was incredibly sweet and helpful and is an amazing chef. Our breakfast both Saturday and Sunday morning were fabulous. The owner of the property, Melanie, gave us suggestions of places to see and restaurants to eat at during our stay. She went way above and beyond to communicate with us to ensure if we needed anything she would be there to provide it. She even helped us get a reservation on the Saturday of our stay. The room was beautiful, and the Chalet property was incredibly peaceful. I would highly recommend a stay here for anybody who is trying to make up their mind as to a trip to the Finger Lakes. We have already discussed coming back in the winter for a snowshoeing trip around the Finger Lakes area.

We had a great stay at the Chalet! Beautiful, private and picturesque. Perfect space for a larger group, we even chose to spend most of our time at the Chalet instead of other plans as it had everything we needed on site. Would definitely stay again in the future!
