We had expectations going on based on the site and pictures we saw before our stay. Cherry Ridge blew those expectations out of the water. The Observatory cabin is beautiful from the outside grounds to the cabin interior. The layout is cozy and romantic and that all helped set the scene for my proposal to my now fiancé.
The staff are friendly and prompt in their communications and are happy to help with anything during your stay. If we had any type of issue or question, it was promptly address and that made staying there even better.
The pool and hot tub were great and well maintained. The fire pit area was also perfect and situated perfectly along the wood line. Looking up from the fire at the clear, starlit night sky was a great feeling.
The telescope in the living room allows for stargazing and there are sheets to help you work it and tips on stargazing out the beautiful big picture window in the living room.
This is a place we will not soon forget and we are already looking forward to our next stay. I highly recommend the Observatory, but I really just recommend Cherry Ridge retreats in general as I'm sure all the rest of their property is just as great as the Observatory was for us.

Our first stay at Cherry Ridge Retreat for 4 nights, and we loved it! Every detail of the cabin, the amenities and the property was meticulously thought out. We enjoyed the 5 miles of well marked hiking trails on-site. Many deer with two little fawns that visited us each day. We stayed in the Whispering Pines cabin and it was perfect for the two of us to recharge. We hardly left the property because it was so nice. We will be back!

First time at Cherry ridge resort. We had a great time! Cabin was very clean and nicely decorated. There was everything in the kitchen that you would need including a large blender and coffee bean grinder. We have stayed at other cabins in Hocking Hills and they were not nearly as nice. We even used the hot tube because of the cleanliness. There were trails coming from the cabin. Staff were extremely helpful. Definitely would recommend Cherry Ridge resort to everyone.

We stayed at Water’s Edge to celebrate our anniversary. The cabin was well-stocked with supplies for our stay. I had ordered some extras - meals, flower arrangement, coffee, mugs, champagne, and chocolate. All of it was waiting for us in the cabin when we arrived. The cabin was so cozy and well-decorated. The outside was as beautiful as the inside. From the front porch to the hot tub to the hammock to the fire pit area, there were several places for us to sit and enjoy each other’s company and nature. We will definitely be back to explore the trails some more and see the other unique areas in the resort that we didn’t get a chance to experience. This was the most peaceful, beautiful, and relaxing place I have ever been to. The staff in the office are friendly, kind, attentive, and very welcoming! We had the chance to chat while swapping out board games to play. Thank you Cherry Ridge Retreat for a stay that was even better than I could have imagined and for helping us celebrate our anniversary and my appreciation for my very best friend, my husband. Looking forward to spending more time at CRR in the future!
