My friend and I spent a girls weekend at the HillBrook Inn and had a room in their ‘Farmhouse.’ It was so nice, clean, quiet and comfortable. The service was amazing. We went to the main lodge for breakfast which was included in the stay and it was so yummy with a beautiful atmosphere. We spent time at Harper’s Ferry which was a quick 25 minute drive and the Inn also recommended someone to drive us for a wine tour in Virginia and he was so sweet. We had a great time and loved the accommodations and people.

Our three night stay at Hillbrook’s sprawling over the top with charm property was what dreams are made of when it comes to a storybook getaway with your special person! I purchased a package to include the Fall cottage for our 23rd Anniversary; cannot recommend the upgrade to a cottage enough, roses, charcuterie tray, couples massage, dinner, and breakfast whether in cottage or at the main house daily. I’ll quickly echo other reviewers in saying the staff at Hillbrook raised the bar daily from start to end on all details and I can say that with us having patronized other inn’s and boutique hotels, Hillbrook now stands well above. The chef prepared three course dinner was an introduction to some of the most pleasantly surprising mixtures of texture and flavor that I’d put up against any other. Cindy and Deb at The Gatehouse on property spa; a separate structure that is storybook charming on the exterior and no less on the interior, made our first couples massage a beautiful and exquisitely relaxed experience working out some long set in stiff and knotted up spots of which I now have better mobility at! From a beautiful bridge crossing the brook that runs through the property to the jumbo yard chess to the lamppost lit paths to our cottage, not to forget the well thought out areas of which an intimate wedding can be held. To sum it up, we were both emotional when leaving to go back to the real world with the Hillbrook property and surrounding Charles Town, Harper’s Ferry, and Shephardstown with their deep history, eclectic culture, Appalachian Trail mid point, and great eateries and shopping having allowed us to truly slow down over our days in the area and focus every minute on each other and that’s quite special. Needless to say we’re already planning a repeat stay!! Thanks to all at Hillbrook Inn & Spa. We’ll be seeing you again and it can’t be soon enough!

My then-fiance and I vacationed here last year for our last anniversary before getting married. It was a lovely place surrounded by beautiful views. Our room was cozy but spacious, with a nice tub and an in-room sauna. Very relaxing. The restaurant was the highlight, though. Was it expensive? Yes. But absolutely worth the price. We loved everything we ate. I even enjoyed foods I normally wouldn't order! Our waitress had great wine recommendations and the chef visited our table and was so friendly. Our only complaint during our entire stay was the couple's massage we booked. The massages themselves were well done, but I don't think the spa staff get many gay couples. It was kind of awkward and made it harder to relax. We would come back but book separate massages next time.

We had a wonderful one night stay at the bed and breakfast. The staff was very helpful, pleasant, and courteous. Our room was large and very clean. The exposure to nature and the animals was very nice as well. In the morning we had breakfast and highly recommend the deviled egg toast and the strawberry French toast. Delicious. This will be a regular stop on our way south from now on.
