We just spent five nights, and we're shocked to discover that the owners, Diana and Tsvetomir, had only JUST recently taken assumed ownership of the Inn. They were so hospitable that it felt like they were both old pros that had owned the place for many years. We stayed in room #3 which was simultaneously roomy and cozy. The water pressure was FANTASTIC, and it seemed liked there was no end to the hot water. In fact, we had to be careful to not make it too hot when showering. We don't normally eat breakfast, but the breakfast each morning was too good to pass up, especially the quiches and lemon ricotta pancakes! On the one day we had subpar weather, we spent the last few hours of the afternoon by the fireplace in the common area reading while drinking one of the many teas available. A delight! If you're not familiar with Mount Desert Island, Southwest Harbor is known as "the quiet side" and for good reason. The pace is slow and there is almost no traffic, especially compared to Bar Harbor. There are still a lot of great hikes within a few short miles of the Inn, and if you want to venture into the Bar Harbor side of the island, it is an easy 20-30 minute drive. We did this several times, and it never felt like a chore to go the busier side. While there are only a handful of shops and restaurants in Southwest Harbor, you can easily walk to them from the Inn. All-in-all, we loved our stay at the Lindenwood Inn and hope to make it back there one day.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The Inn has just been taken over by new owners who can't be anymore helpful and accommodating. Diana's made to order breakfasts were amazing. The location is an easy drive to all the places you want to see in Acadia. I can not recommend this place enough. We can't wait to return.

We stayed for two nights last week in the penthouse room. Wow, probably the nicest room we’ve stayed at. We had our own large private deck outside with fire pit and private hot tub. The inside was the whole 3rd floor with all the amenities, fireplace, kitchenette, huge shower. Diana and “C” were the most gracious hosts, a wonderful couple and a gorgeous place.

The penthouse is a fabulous room in this remodeled sea captains home. We had a private balcony with a hot tub and fire pit. A beautiful view of the harbor and stars at night. We watched the lunar eclipse from here with a perfect view. New owners Diana and C provide every comfort you could want plus an amazing breakfast in bed. I highly recommend it.

We came here for a 3-day “mini-moon” after our wedding, and we can’t speak highly enough about our experience at the Lindenwood Inn! The room — stylish, bed was extremely comfy, top-notch AC unit, and we even got a little water view from our balcony which we weren’t expecting! The bathroom was newly finished and the rain shower head was lovely. The patio, pool & hot tub — absolutely stunning! There were several little nooks to relax in, fresh towels always available, and the quiet ambiance was so relaxing. We made sure to leave ourselves an hour or two each day to unwind here. We also enjoyed sitting on the front porch for a late-night drink after dinner. The breakfast — a perfect way to start the day. The food options were extensive, and we loved having a choice of sitting inside or outside. The staff — truly lovely! We felt so taken care of, and we had some amazing conversations at breakfast, but never felt “stuck” in conversation or forced to chat when we were in a rush. Beth helped us print out our Acadia park passes, which was a lifesaver. The area — WAY better than staying in Bar Harbor! The location can’t be beat, because you’re walking distance to Beal’s lobster pier and both restaurants at the Claremont, plus lots of restaurants (and ice cream!) a short walk away on Main St. I wish we’d taken more photos of this beautiful place, but if you’re looking for a cozy and quiet retreat in Southwest Harbor, you must stay here!
