We had planned 2 days at Seven Sea Street Inn this weekend, but sadly the Nor'Easter ruined our plans. Matthew graciously refunded our stay - we will definitely reschedule for sometime next year.

Had a fabulous 3 night stay at Seven Sea Street Inn! So convenient to the ferry/town, excellent breakfast with access to microwave + mini fridge in the room was a huge plus! Clean rooms and friendly guests/innkeeper made the visit even more enjoyable. Would stay here again!

1 star. The biggest problem was Mr. Matt Parker, the innkeeper (take note that every single non-five star review cites Matt as the problem, consistent with my experience - maybe a course in hospitality, and a few deep breaths could be of help to him). He was rude, hostile and made ordinary guest questions feel like an inconvenience. His responses were consistently snarky, and we felt uncomfortable even using the common areas because of the way he watched us and interacted with us. He also sent staff to knock on our door about five minutes before checkout and made us feel rushed, despite checkout time not yet having arrived. The room itself was disappointing. The window air conditioner filter looked like it had not been cleaned in years, there was hair in the bathroom that was not ours, and at six feet tall I could barely fit in the shower. A small inn should feel welcoming and personal. Instead, Matt made the entire stay feel tense and uncomfortable. The poor maintenance was one thing, but his attitude is the main reason I would not return. Frankly, it is difficult to imagine an inn operated this way surviving anywhere other than a destination with limited lodging availability. In response to the owner: This review reflects our overall stay, including the room’s cleanliness, the early housekeeping knock, and Matt’s interactions with us. His response addresses none of those concerns and instead focuses entirely on the passport. For clarity, I paid for and provided a prepaid shipping label which also included a free mailing envelope. Matt initially agreed to return the passport using that label, then demanded an additional $25 service fee and threatened to charge more because of the value of his time. His behavior escalated during that exchange, but our disappointing experience began before it. Calling this a personal attack does not address the specific issues described in the review. Other guests having positive experiences does not invalidate ours.
