We just concluded our first trip to Vermont and had booked a stay at the Swift Inn Middlebury, VT. Our stay was three nights and superseded any and all expectations we had! The rooms were amazing from the beautiful historic decor down to the comfy pillows and sheets! The grounds were beautiful with so much thought and effort put in to every outdoor square foot. I highly recommend The Swift Inn the owners have left no stone unturned when it comes to comfort, hospitality, atmosphere. The icing on the cake was the food, breakfast, dinner and bar was the best. The attention to detail throughout is over the top.

Everything was amazing. Eating breakfast outdoors on the patio was a delight. Added bonus: Griswald the cat joining us (house cat!). All in all, a delightful stay.

There are not enough positive adjectives to fully describe the Swift House Inn and Jessica's Restaurant. The beautiful property is central to Middlebury, a perfect exemplification of a Vermont college town...shops, dining options, and access to the cultural amenities of the college are all reasons enough to go. But why would you even step off the property? The rooms are updated and comfortable, the amenities are endless, and the dining experience is matchless. Caring, attentive staff and friendly yet not overbearing concern for your wellbeing are elements that are often overlooked by other upscale destinations. Not here- everything about Swift House exudes charm and thoughtful attention to your every needs. There is no better option for a stay in the North Country. Our compliments to the staff are combined with our assurance that we will return to stay here again and again!

Amazing place to stay for a trip to Vermont. Just and hour from the Burlington airport, it is in a cute little college town. The food and rooms were amazing.

The Swift House Inn is a beautiful, well appointed, exceptionally maintained B&B in the heart of Middlebury. The staff is wonderful. Our only issue was that we were staying in the Alexander Twilight room, which faces the highway. We heard traffic from semi’s and snow plows all night. There was a respite from about 2am to 5am but otherwise it was loud. The room is maybe 20-50 yards from the highway. I tried putting in my AirPods but they aren’t great for sleeping. My husband and I are not light sleepers at all, but we were both miserable.
So after two terrible nights sleep I can say I highly recommend this inn, just not that room unless you can sleep through anything!
