My wife and I stayed here recently, and we had an excellent experience. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Our room (the magnolia) was great! The location is perfect for the downtown area. Far enough away that the night life isn’t annoying, but close enough to walk and enjoy all that downtown has to offer. Would absolutely stay here again.

Absolutely wonderful time visiting Amelia Island and staying at the Fairbanks House made it the best. This was our first “full” bed and breakfast stay and it was excellent. The staff was friendly, made us feel welcome right from the start. Truly outstanding hospitality! The house is beautiful and our room was perfect for a couple. Really enjoyed relaxing by the pool at the end of the day of touring Amelia Island. The breakfast is absolutely the best! Also, the proximity to the historic area of was great. Easy walking distance to all shops, restaurants, and bars (5 to 10 minutes max). This is definitely on our “go back to list” - both the Fairbanks House and the island.

Ideally, I'd give the Fairbanks House 3.5 out of 5 stars. The shared spaces inside the main house and the outdoor grounds were very charming and well kept. We didn't interact with the staff very much beyond breakfast, but every interaction we had was excellent. Everyone was incredibly kind, friendly, and attentive. The location is also fantastic and within walking distance of many restaurants and shops. That said, I'd recommend visiting during the fall or winter. The summer heat made walking anywhere pretty unbearable. We ended up driving to places that were only a short walk away simply because we didn't want to arrive sweaty. I'll share more details in the sections below. Overall, we still enjoyed our stay. If the maintenance issues in Room 11 were addressed, the mattress replaced, and the breakfast better matched the expectations set by the website, I think this could easily be a 4.5- or even 5-star experience. But with how it currently is, I wouldn’t return. It was a cute place, but one time was enough for the experience we had.

This is our first time visiting Amelia Island and our first experience staying at a bed and breakfast, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed and cared for. The service was truly exceptional, and every detail made us feel special. We absolutely loved everything about this beautiful place—the hospitality, the atmosphere, and the attention to detail. Thank you for making our stay so memorable. We will always remember this wonderful experience and look forward to returning in the future.

It is truly incredible to see such a well-preserved piece of history, and I really enjoyed walking through the property and imagining what life was like hundreds of years ago. The tour was fascinating and the staff clearly care a lot about sharing the stories of the family who lived here. My only reason for not giving it a perfect score is that the limited hours make it a bit tricky to plan a visit, but if you are a history buff, it is definitely worth the trip. Fairbanks House

I stayed at Fairbanks House and eloped with their elopement package and couldn't be happier with how everything turned out! The elopement package was exactly what I was looking for - all inclusive and left me without worrying about any details. We got to enjoy our stay and everything was taken care of. We had a cake, photographer, timeline, officiant and dinner reservations. It went off without a hitch and was a perfect day! Although a bit rainy :) ill take it as good luck! The breakfast was AMAZING and we loved our nightly baked good. The service was great and we enjoyed our beautiful room (the hideaway). I can't think of anything we were missing. I highly recommend this b&b! Thanks again to Yvonne and Rob for making our elopement easy and breezy. We had a great time! Oh - we also loved our vintage Rolls Royce that drove us around the island and took us to dinner! Awesome experience and great touch as part of the package:)
