Candidly, one of the easiest 5 star reviews I’ve ever left. My wife and I had a summer trip to Santa Fe and were looking at exploring some other areas of northern NM, including the Ghost Ranch area. I stumbled across The Grand Hacienda and its postcard perfect vistas. After reading the many glowing reviews, we booked a one night stay as part of our travel. To say the least, we wholeheartedly agree that the other 5 star reviews are spot on! Accommodations were lovely, with a very clean , comfortable and relaxing room, great shower. The views, of course, are exceptional, day and night. While views of Abiquiu Lake and a portion of the red rocks of Ghost Ranch are the highlights by day, within minutes of sitting outside our room at night I saw multiple shooting stars passing through the wide open skies. The star of the show, however, is truly the hosts, Jessica and Christopher, their culinary talent and their connection with guests. The meals were all outstanding and we truly enjoyed getting a chance to hear some of the work/travel experiences of the hosts and pieces they have taken away from each of those experiences to bring with them to The Grand Hacienda. Wonderful stay. Our biggest regret was that we only had one night. It’s remote, but that’s obviously the whole point. Great food, great scenery and the ability to take in a truly “enchanting” portion of New Mexico.

Absolutely spectacular. Our hosts, Jessica and Christopher, we're incredible. They were knowledgeable about the location and yhe hoings on in the town. They have poured their hearts and souls intothis property and to make sure us guests have an incredible experience whether we want to be our exploring the area, or (like us) not leaving the property and relaxing to the fullest. Their 4 course dinner was the most decadent food I've ever tasted. And the breakfasts were sinful. I stayed in the rio chama room, and I loved waking up to the beautiful sunrises and sitting on the back patio and watching the hummingbirds. The views from this room were the best views I've ever seen in my life. It is breathtaking, serene, and peaceful. Don't get me started on how many stars I saw-- I saw the milky way! My husband and I will come back one day.

What a magical place! My stay at The Grand Hacienda was incredible, far exceeding my expectations, so much so that I’m writing my first online review. I came here for a “self-directed” writing retreat. I wanted a quiet place of beauty and comfort where I could focus. I found that, and far more. The vast, ever-changing landscape that surrounds the Grand Hacienda is awe-inspiring. I could gaze on those horizons for hours. I chose the Abiquiu Lake suite because the windows looked ideal for what I wanted, and wow, were they ever. I wrote at the desk in front of the window; I read in the leather armchairs looking out the glass doors; I took breaks on the portal. From the portal I could see from Abiquiu Lake to the Cerro Pedernal, and I had the unexpected pleasure of watching hummingbirds vying for the feeder. Not only the natural beauty, but everything about the Hacienda made for an ideal stay. The food is exquisite! The 3-course breakfasts were amazing: different courses each day, and all were so creative, fresh, and delicious. (And perfect portions.) The best breakfasts I’ve ever had anywhere. I can’t say enough about the warmth and generosity of the hosts. Perfect attention to every detail. Gorgeous spaces (and rock sculptures) throughout the Hacienda. Great suggestions for exploring the area. And Jessica offered the perfect balance of conversation and respect for privacy. Jessica and Christopher have created more than a 5-star inn. They have created a space for stillness and peace and an extraordinary experience. Thank you!

We had a lovely two-day stay here—wish we could have stayed longer. The views from our room, from the great room and patio, and from the observation deck were stunning! Jennifer took wonderful care of us. The inn is luxurious and comfortable. Highly recommended!

Our stay at the Grand Hacienda was absolutely perfect, and it will be impossible to relate all of what made it wonderful in an online review, but I'll try. To start, it's gorgeous. Our room overlooked the lake and it was breathtaking to watch the sun come up over the mountains in the morning. At night, the stars were incredible - some really great dark skies you won't see elsewhere. It is quiet and remote, and so luxurious at the same time. You take a series of dirt roads (very passable - you don't need a truck!) to the middle of the landscape and only see a scattering of other houses in the distance. The rooms are spacious and airy with large windows and high ceilings, beautiful decor and beautiful views. There is a lovely courtyard garden with interesting art and architecture. You really can't beat these accommodations. As for the experience, endless thanks and compliments to Jessica and Christopher, the innkeepers and chefs. They are very excellent at what they do! When we arrived there were so many special touches waiting for us that continued through our stay. Flowers and macarons in our room, fresh baked scones for an afternoon snack, and a thoughtfully prepared and delicious breakfast packed for us to take on the road the (very early and still dark out) morning of our departure. As for the breakfasts we had each morning - so incredibly fresh, innovative, creative and delicious three course breakfasts with fresh juice each morning. And warmed coffee mugs! And each morning when we walked into the great room for breakfast there was a fire in the fireplace and that view! We did have dinner there one night as well and it was just fantastic - from the beautiful table, to the delicious meal. Fresh, fantastic, so elegant. Jessica and Christopher created a truly wonderful experience for us. And by the way they are lovely people and very interesting to talk to. Their hospitality is unmatched. I can't recommend the Grand Hacienda highly enough. It's a special place run by wonderful people, and we very much hope to come visit again.
