From the moment we drove up to the Notchland Inn, we were impressed by its charm and the gorgeous floral garden leading to the entrance. We were initially unsure which building or door to use, so a sign would be helpful. After calling for assistance, Ann Marie greeted us warmly, showed us a few rooms, and shared some of the inn’s fascinating history. Our room was spacious, spotless, and thoughtfully arranged. Dinner was served later than we normally eat, but it was delicious and worth the wait. The grounds were beautifully maintained, and the staff made our visit especially enjoyable. We also loved meeting the resident dogs—Mia, the free-spirited Border Collie, made me feel right at home. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely return!

This is an amazing place. The building and grounds are beautiful, the staff were friendly and helpful. The location is scenic and rural enough to provide quiet isolation. My room was amazingly spacious, well furnished, and clean. I didn't eat dinner there but I did eat breakfast and the food was excellent.
The dogs are both friendly once you say hello and give them a quick pat on the head.
The remote location of this Inn made it perfect to view the Perseid Meteor Shower this year (2026). With the exception of a few lights in the parking lot the entire area is extremely dark, though the mountains do limit the horizon (as do a few trees).

Fantastic place to stay in The White Mountains. Service was impeccable throughout our 3 night stay. Both breakfast and dinner were great. The entire property was clean and well tended to. Our host, Les, gave us a great overview of the history of the inn and the region in general. Can’t recommend this place enough!
