"We stayed a handful of nights at Whale Cove Inn in April."
This is hands down one of the most romantic getaways we've had. Don't wait do it.

I came here to relax and wanted to stop by the restaurant, but a woman suddenly came running out and started arguing with us, saying that they don’t have a public restroom and that we shouldn’t be here at all. She didn’t even ask us what we needed or say hello. We never asked about a public restroom. We simply wanted to go to the restaurant and have something to eat, but after being treated like that, we got back in the car and left.

Whale Cove Inn is 5 star unless you get the ADA room for a romantic weekend. This place is remarkably beautiful. We saw 2 bunnies, so many seals, the eagles twice, & even a baby whale came into the cove for a solid hour!! The views are so stunning. However upon check in the we were told because we were the last to book we had the ADA room which didn’t sound bad when reception described it & if you have any disabilities would be perfect as it’s located right next to the lobby & parking lot. However my husband & I were so excited for a romantic adults weekend & this room is right next to the stair to access the property. So every person that walks down them or is on the patio below has full view of you. If you’re on the second or third floor this room tops of been the exact weekend we’d been dreaming of. Had it been notated in the booking at the time of that we were the last to book & it was this room I would say the fault was ours for accepting this but unfortunately we we not aware until checking in & there were no other room options. We would absolutely stay here again if we had a more relaxed private room on a higher floor. Otherwise every single detail is thought of from bath salts for the jacuzzi tub to binoculars in case you forget yours. And the wildlife viewing was unforgettable.

We stayed a handful of nights at Whale Cove Inn in April. The inn is what people call a “boutique hotel,” modest in size, and I honestly don’t think we were ever even aware of others staying at the same time; their cars in the little lot were all we ever noticed. The ease of access to the coast and the gorgeous cove view itself are exactly what you may be picturing. It’s worth taking a little time to walk to the edge of the water and glance back, just to see things from all angles. Rooms are exceptionally spacious, and the sunset light from our balcony each night caught multiple gray whales’ breaths in the air as they lingered on the surface during their migration.
The only moment’s fret I felt had to do with the limited desk hours, and that was only because I hadn’t been fully aware of those. If you were arriving late you would want to call in to arrange something. That didn’t come up for us, and I’m sure the hotel is perfectly able to work around wrinkles of that kind.
The restaurant on site, Restaurant Beck, is lovely and worthy of its own glowing review.
In short while this was a pricey option by our standards, I would choose it again in a heartbeat.
